Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: CY2024 Tax Rates

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center second-floor Main meeting room, 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville, Va., to receive public comments on the following matter:

PH2024-06: Clarke County Tax Rates for the Calendar Year 2024. This public hearing is held for the purpose of
hearing citizens who wish to comment on the proposed local tax levies for the year beginning January 1, 2024
in accordance with Section 58.1-3007 et. seq. of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended. The Board will also
receive comments on a proposed master fee schedule for department user fees.

Information regarding the above matter is available to the public in Clarke County Administration office (101 Chalmers Ct., second floor) and in the link below. Any person desiring to speak on the above matter should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested, but not required. Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities. Accommodations will be made for handicapped persons upon prior request.
