Fire, EMS & Emergency Management

The Fire, EMS & Emergency Management department coordinates all services of Clarke County’s three volunteer fire and rescue companies as well as all emergency preparedness planning and response for the county, including its official Emergency Operation Plan (updated May 2023).

Fire, EMS & Emergency Management oversees professional responses to fire, medical, and environmental emergencies. The department is dedicated to minimizing the loss of life and property through suppression, rescue, education, and other programs. It manages paid EMS staff and the Fee for Service program.
