The Code of Clarke County (Chapter 61) requires all dogs ages 4-months and older to be licensed and wear tags. Dog owners need to submit proof the animal is vaccinated against rabies and is neutered/spayed. Dog licenses must be purchased annually by Jan. 31.

License rates are $10 each for intact dogs and $5 each for spayed/neutered dogs.

Dog licenses are available at the Clarke County Treasurer’s Office, or send payment along with current rabies certificate for each dog to: Clarke County Treasurer, P.O. Box 537, Berryville, VA 22611. Rabies certificate(s) and new dog tag(s) will be mailed to the address on file for tax accounts.
