Maintenance

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) maintains, constructs, paves, repairs, and removes snow on public roadways in the county.  This work includes maintaining stop signs, speed limit signs, route number signs and other similar devices.  To report a road issue, please click here.

The towns of Berryville and Boyce perform road maintenance activities within the incorporated limits.  To report an issue in Berryville, please call 540-955-1099, to report an issue in Boyce, please call 540-837-2901.

Maintenance of private roads is the responsibility of property owners.

Planning

VDOT, in cooperation with the County, plans for transportation improvements.  This includes various studies of problematic roadways or intersections, adoption of the Secondary Six-Year Plan, and other planning documents.  To review previously conducted studies or to review other planning documents, please click here.
