Home MenuReceive Emergency Notifications
Clarke County uses a rapid emergency notification service called CodeRED® to distribute emergency messages via telephone to targeted areas or to the entire county in the event of fires, chemical spills, evacuations, lockdowns, downed power lines, lost individuals, natural disasters, abductions, water system problems, bomb threats, or other emergencies. CodeRED® is capable of high-speed geographic targeting of calls to deliver customized pre-recorded emergency messages to mobile phones, homes, businesses, and answering machines.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to register, especially if they use unlisted numbers, cell phones, or voice over IP (VoIP). Those who do not register may not receive proper notification through CodeRED® in case of an emergency.
Registration is confidential, easy, and free.

Text-to-911 technology is available in Clarke County so people who are unable to speak can use cellphones to reach 911 dispatchers. Text-to-911 is intended for individuals who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or have speech disabilities; individuals who are in situations where it is not safe to place a voice call to 911; and/or individuals who are incapable of speaking because of a medical emergency that affects voice. If you can speak, call 911.
