Planning & Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Department administers and coordinates all county land-use policies as stated in the Comprehensive Plan and implemented in the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance. The county also has standards for wells and drain fields to further protect the environment. A key tool for the department is the Geographic Information System (GIS) that assembles all the physical attributes of Clarke County in order to understand the interrelationship of these attributes.
