Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: Agricultural & Forestal District Review

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, second-floor Main meeting room, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Va., on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, to hear public comment on the following:

PH 2022-01: Review and renewal of the Clarke County Agricultural & Forestal District. Pursuant to Chapter 48 of Code of Clarke County, and as authorized under the Code of Virginia, Title 15.2, Chapter 43, the Clarke County Agricultural & Forestal District is reviewed every six (6) years for modification, termination or continuation. During this review process, and prior to action by the Board of Supervisors, land may be withdrawn from the district at the owner’s discretion by filing a written notice. Land may also be added to the district upon review and approval of an application submitted by the owner. The Planning Commission has recommended the Board of Supervisors renew the District with the same conditions and terms as exist in the District currently.

Information regarding the above matter is available to the public in Clarke County Administration. Any person desiring to speak on the above matter should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required. Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities. Accommodations will be made for handicapped persons upon prior request.
