Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

PH 2021-08: The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comment on the Virginia Department of Transportation proposed Secondary Six-Year Plan for 2021-2022 - 2026-2027 in Clarke County and on the Secondary System Construction Budget for Fiscal Year 2022. Copies of the proposed Plan and Budget may be reviewed at the Edinburg Residency Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation, located at 14031 Old Valley Pike Edinburg, Va., or the Clarke County offices located at 101 Chalmers Ct., Suite B, Berryville, Va. All projects in the Secondary Six-Year Plan that are eligible for federal funds will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which documents how Virginia will obligate federal transportation funds.

Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required. Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities. Accommodations will be made for handicapped persons upon prior request.
