Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: Budget Amendments to Approved FY 21 Budget

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center main meeting room, second floor, 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville, Va., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, to hear public comment on the following matters:

PH 2021-01: Budget Amendments to the Approved FY 21 Budget: The Clarke County Board of Supervisors intends to amend the FY 2021 budget. The budget amendments include the receipt and expenditure of federal CARES funding in the amount of $1,223,362 to the County and $516,347 to Clarke County Public Schools; Claude Moore Foundation, Virginia Department of Education School Security Equipment, Title III Supplemental, and IDEA Supplemental grants totaling $171,977 for Clarke County Public Schools; conservation easement funds in the amount of $569,029 ($323,500 from Natural Resource Conservation Service, $121,875 from Virginia Land Conservation Fund, $61,827 from Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and $61,827 from County fund balance); a grant from the American Battlefield Protection Program in the amount of $39,427, and an $18,913 grant from the Commonwealth for deed book restoration for the Clerk’s Office.

Information regarding the above matter is available to the public in Clarke County Administration Office during regular working hours at 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville. Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required.
