Yard Waste, Appliances & Hazardous Materials

The Clarke County Convenience Center on Quarry Road does NOT accept yard waste, furniture, appliances, computers, or hazardous material (motor oil, paint, etc.).

The Frederick County Landfill, located at 280 Landfill Rd. in Winchester, ACCEPTS yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, brush, limbs, tree stumps, logs, Christmas trees, etc. It also accepts hazardous waste, computers, major and small household appliances, a/c units, dehumidifiers, lawn equipment with fluids removed, auto batteries, propane tanks, indoor and outdoor furniture, shelving, mattresses, box springs, remodeling waste such as lumber, pipes, carpeting, etc. 

Some types of waste are accepted only at certain times, at certain locations, or under certain conditions at the Frederick County Landfill.

Frederick County Landfill scales are open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Citizens Convenience Center is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The facility is closed Sundays and holidays.

C2 Management in Berryville accepts old and broken electronic equipment such as computers, TVs, calculators, cell phones, printers, etc. Drop offs are accepted 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Thursday. Electronics are accepted FREE of charge. EXCEPTIONS are CRT (cathode ray tube) TVs 31-inch and smaller $10; CRT TVs 32-inch and larger $20; LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs all sizes $8. There is also charge for large quantities of batteries. C2 Management will NOT accept hazardous materials.
