The Emergency Communications Center is responsible for around-the-clock dispatch of emergency (911) and non-emergency (540-955-1234) calls. The office is also responsible for street addressing system throughout Clarke County.
Clarke’s Communications Specialists are certified through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as Communications Operators. They also earn certification from the Virginia Criminal Information Network, CPR and Emergency Medical Dispatching, and some have attained Certified Training Officer level training and hold instructor certificates from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.
The Emergency Communications Center and Sheriff’s Office maintain emergency contact information for owners of livestock (cattle, horses, sheep, etc.) so contact can be made in the event animals are reported running loose or injured. Return the Livestock Owner Contact Form to the Sheriff’s Office, 100 N. Church St., Berryville VA 22611, fax it to (540) 955-4111, or email it to ccso@clarkecounty.gov.
