Patrol Division

The Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division is made up of two patrol sergeants, six patrol deputies and two traffic enforcement deputies. This division enforces the Code of Virginia, Clarke County Ordinances and traffic laws as well as investigating crimes and serving court paperwork.

Criminal Investigations Division

This Division consists of a sergeant, an investigator, and two school resource officers. The sergeant and investigator are primarily responsible for handling criminal investigation in Clarke County as well as working with the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug Task Force. School Resource Officers (SROs) are assigned to assist the public school system to help ensure all students have a safe environment in which to learn.

Communications Division

The Communications Division is responsible for around-the-clock dispatch of emergency (911) and non-emergency (540) 955-1234) calls and the management of the CodeRed emergency communication system. It handles all calls for service for all law enforcement, fire and rescue, and emergency services agencies.
