Zoning & Subdivision Ordinances (County Code Chapter 200)

Background

Clarke County’s Zoning Ordinance contains the laws and regulations governing the use of land in the unincorporated areas of the county. It is the primary tool to ensure development and construction in the county is consistent with the county’s land use philosophy as described in the Comprehensive Plan. The Zoning Ordinance does not apply to properties located within town limits of Berryville and Boyce.

The county’s Subdivision Ordinance contains the laws and regulations governing the division of land and adjustment of property lines in the unincorporated areas of the county. The county’s Subdivision Ordinance does not apply to properties in within town limits of Berryville and Boyce or in areas of the county that are designated for future annexation by the Town of Berryville.

The Clarke County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances are updated and recompiled at the beginning of each calendar year to incorporate amendments adopted in the previous year by the Board of Supervisors. Any amendments adopted in the current calendar year are posted below.
