Chet Hobert Park has five picnic shelters that can be reserved between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. any day April through October. To reserve a shelter, go to clarke.recdesk.com. For assistance, contact Clarke County Parks & Recreation at 540-955-5140 or ccpr@clarkecounty.gov.
Jaycee Shelter: Located west of the main entrance behind the front ball fields, the Jaycee Shelter is equipped with electricity and covered grill. It can accommodate up to 50 people. Comfort stations are located nearby at ball fields and the Clarke County Recreation Center.
Kiwanis Shelter: Located in the front of the park adjacent to the playground, the Kiwanis Shelter is equipped with electricity, a covered grill and water. The shelter will accommodate up to 50 people. Comfort stations are located at the front ball fields and the Recreation Center.
Lions Shelter: Located on the south side of the park, the Lions Shelter is equipped with electricity, covered grill, and water. It can accommodate 75 to 120 people. Comfort stations are located nearby at ball fields and the Recreation Center.
Rotary Shelter: Located in the center of the park adjacent to the playground, the Rotary Shelter is equipped with electricity, grill, and water. It can accommodate up to 100 people. Comfort stations are located nearby at ball fields and the Recreation Center.
VFW Shelter: Located on the south side of the park next to ball fields and Tot Lot, the VFW Shelter is equipped with electricity, covered grill, and water. It can accommodate 75 to 120 people. Comfort stations are located nearby at ball fields and the Recreation Center.
Fees:
Picnic shelter rental fees are $45 for an all-day reservation (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) for non-Clarke residents; $40 for an all day reservation (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) for Clarke County residents; 50 percent discount for Clarke County non-profit organizations. Commercial activites are $80 per hour for non-Clarke residents and $60 per hour for Clarke County residents.
Possession/consumption of alcoholic beverages on park property is prohibited. All animals must be kept on leashes at all times.
