CONCEALED CARRY PERMITS: Virginia legislation requires that all applicants for concealed carry permits must have in-person gun class certificates. Applicants who renew their permits prior to the expiration date may use current permits as proof of competency. Applicants whose permits have expired must provide a certificate of an in-person gun safety class. Cost for both new and renewal concealed carry permits is $40, cash or check only.

Circuit Court — 26th Judicial Circuit of Virginia — records deeds, wills, estates, UCC financial statements, and judgements. It issues marriage licenses, notary applications, and concealed handgun permits. The clerk gives the oath of office to county committees and elected positions. The clerk is the official court administrator for all civil and criminal court cases, creating and maintaining all court files and records, preparing miscellaneous orders and jury lists, contacting jurors, and issuing summons and court processes.
Circuit Court handles all chancery, common law, and criminal matters for Clarke County and its towns. Circuit Court also hears cases on appeal from the General District and Juvenile & Domestic Relations courts. The Clerk of the Circuit Court is an elected position.
Clarke County Circuit Court is located at 102 N. Church St. in Berryville, Va.
