Note: In April 2024, the Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed to disband the Broadband Implementation Committee that was stablished in 2020 to coordinate the efforts of the Board and the Planning Commission to improve broadband internet access for county residents and businesses. The Committee worked with industry representatives to determine how to expand broadband internet availability and identify obstacles to its expansion.

In December 2021, the governor of Virginia announced that Clarke County is one of eight counties in the Northern Shenandoah Valley that will share a $95,303,000 Virginia Telecommunication Initiative (VATI) grant for much-needed rural broadband infrastructure. All Points Broadband is currently working on fiber construction. Work should conclude in July 2025.
