The Berryville Area Development Authority was established in accordance with the Code of Virginia and the Amended Resolution and Agreement Defining Annexation Rights (agreement between Town of Berryville and the County of Clarke) to assist Berryville Town Council and Clarke County Board of Supervisors with matters related to community development within Annexation Area B.
The Berryville Area Development Authority has authority to review, approve, and deny applications for subdivisions, boundary-line adjustments, and site plans. The BADA advises Berryville Town Council and Clarke County Board of Supervisors on amendments to the Berryville Area Plan, zoning and subdivision ordinance amendments, rezoning, and special-use permits for properties located in Annexation Area B.
Berryville Town Council appoints three individuals to serve on the BADA, and the Clarke County Board of Supervisors appoints three individuals. All members serve four-year terms.

Berryville Area Development Authority meetings begin at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the second-floor meeting space of the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center located at 101 Chalmers Ct. in Berryville. All meetings are open to the public. Special meetings, work sessions, and committee meetings are scheduled as needed.
