Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: Transportation Plan

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center second-floor Main meeting room, 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville, Va., to receive public comments on the following matter: 

PH2024‐07: 2024 Transportation Plan: The Clarke County Transportation Plan is an implementing component of the 2022 Clarke County Comprehensive Plan. The Plan’s purpose is to identify and prioritize short- and long‐term transportation network needs as they relate to the management of growth by the County and its incorporated towns. The Plan is designed to comply with the Chapter 729 regulations of Code of Virginia §15.2‐2223 and contains an inventory of the County’s existing transportation network, planning assumptions that influence the transportation network, an existing and future needs assessment, and recommendations to address those needs. The 2024 revision strengthens and updates the Plan’s objectives and strategies using guidance from the 2022 Comprehensive Plan, updates, and expands the list of proposed transportation improvement projects, and includes amendments for clarity and consistency purposes. 

Information regarding the above matter is available to the public in the Clarke County Planning & Zoning office (101 Chalmers Ct., second floor) and in the link below. Any person desiring to speak on the above matter should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested, but are not required. Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities. Accommodations will be made for handicapped persons upon prior request.
