Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: BSA Variance Request

The Clarke County Board of Septic and Well Appeals will conduct a Public Hearing in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center second-floor AB meeting room, 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville, Va., on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at 2 p.m. to consider action on the following matter:

BSA-24-01: Steve and Joy Hudson (owners) request a variance of 528 square-feet to install a septic drip field less than the 1,200 square-feet required by Code of Clarke County Chapter §143-11-D (Septic Ordinance). The property is located at 122 River Park Ln., Tax Map #32A-1-10, Millwood Election District, zoned Forestal Open-Space Conservation (FOC).

In the event of inclement weather, the Public Hearing may be rescheduled to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29.

Any person desiring to speak on the above matter should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required. Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities. Accommodations will be made for handicapped persons upon prior request.
