Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Continued Public Hearing: Carter Hall Estate, LLC

The Clarke County Planning Commission will conduct a Continued Public Hearing in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center main meeting room, 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville, Va., on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 9 a.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard to consider the following item:

SUP-22-02/SP-22-03, Carter Hall Estate, LLC: Request approval of a special use permit and site development plan to operate a country inn per Section 5.2C (Business Uses – Country Inn) of the Zoning Ordinance. The proposed country inn is described in the application to include assembly activities (events), retail, food, and beverage services that are accessory to the operation of the country inn. A new building, stormwater facility, and certain other site improvements are proposed to accommodate the country inn, and are detailed on the site development plan. The subject property is approximately 86.4 acres, zoned Agricultural-Open Space-Conservation (AOC), identified as Tax Map #30-A-15, and is located on Carter Hall Lane (private road) in the Millwood Election District.

Any person desiring to speak on the above matter should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required.
