Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: FY23 Budget Amendment

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center second-floor main meeting room, 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville, Va., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, to consider the following matter:

PH 2022-18: Budget Amendments to the Approved FY23 Budget: The Clarke County Board of Supervisors intends to amend the FY 2023 budget. The budget amendments include the receipt and expenditure of William and Mary Project HOPE for Homeless Children and Youth (ARP Funds) in the amount of $432.53; Chesapeake Bay Watershed Grant in the amount of $20,270; Claude Moore Foundation Grant in the amount of $10,000; Virginia Department of Health/Virginia Department of Education School Based Health Workforce Grant in the amount of $77,964, and Virginia Department of Health Safe Reopening Grant in the amount of $92,400. In addition, the budget amendments add revenue from IDEA 611 Grant in the amount of $18,237, IDEA 619 (Pre-K) Grant in the amount of $879, Title IV Grant in the amount of $451.75, and USDA/VDOE Supply Chain Assistance Funds in the amount of $34,597.63. These amendments allow Clarke County Public Schools to receive and expend grant funding not included within the approved FY23 budget.

Information regarding the above matters are available to the public in Clarke County Administration office and on the County website. Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required.
