Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: Proposed Noise Ordinance Amendment

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the second-floor meeting room of the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center located at 101 Chalmers Ct. in Berryville, Va., to hear public comment on the following matter:

PH 2022-09: CC-2022-06 The Clarke County Board of Supervisors shall consider amending Clarke County Code Chapter 120 Noise in its entirety.  The proposed ordinance provides maximum sound levels permitted in the county as measured by a sound level meter.  The proposal prescribes certain penalties for violations of the ordinance, provides definitions for terms used, and a list of exemptions to the chapter.
