Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: Text Amendments to the Code of Clarke County, Chapter 40, Voting Districts

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, second-floor Main meeting room, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Va., on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 6:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, to hear public comment on the following:

PH 2022-04: Text Amendments to the Code of Clarke County, Chapter 40, Voting Districts to update the district populations to reflect the 2020 Census as follows; Berryville 2,997, Buckmarsh 2,827, Millwood 3,021, Russell 3,082, and White Post 2,880. The amendments also make a technical correction to the central absentee voter election precinct, it was previously called an election district which is not correct. No changes are proposed to the five election districts boundaries.

Information regarding the above matters is available to the public in Clarke County Administration. Any person desiring to speak on the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements are requested but not required. Clarke County does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission to its programs and activities.
