Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

 

Public Hearing: FY22 Budget Amendment

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing in the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, second-floor Main meeting room, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Va., on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, to hear public comment on the following:

PH 2022-02: Budget Amendments to the Approved FY 22 Budget: The Clarke County Board of Supervisors intends to amend the FY 2022 budget. The budget amendments include the receipt and expenditure of federal Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds in the amount of $344,727 to Clarke County Public Schools for HVAC projects; the receipt and expenditure of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part B funds totaling $7,241 for Clarke County Public Schools for contracted speech and language pathologists; the receipt and expenditure of a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services grant for Clarke County Public Schools for school security officers in the amount of $29,897 from the Commonwealth and a local match of $40,103, and receipt and expenditure of a Virginia Department of Health Grant to Clarke County Public Schools of $125,400 for the Virginia School Screening Testing for Assurance program.

Information regarding the above matter is available to the public in Clarke County Administration. Any person desiring to speak on the above matter should appear at the appointed time and place.
