Public Hearing Notices

Public Hearings are part of formal government meetings and are scheduled as needed. Public Hearings are opportunities for a governing body to receive testimony from the public at large on local issues or proposed government actions. Notices are posted here and published in The Winchester Star — the area’s newspaper of record — at least 10 days prior to the Public Hearing.

In accordance with Section 58.1-3378 of the Code of Virginia, notice is hereby provided that the Clarke County Board of Equalization shall sit in the Main Meeting Room on the second floor of the Berryville-Clarke County Joint Government Center located at 101 Chalmers Ct., Berryville on Monday, July 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; Monday, July 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Thursday, July 30, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Monday, Aug. 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the purpose of equalizing real estate assessments and to hear complaints of inequalities wherein the property owners allege a lack of uniformity in assessment, or errors in acreage in such real estate assessments, or that real property is assessed at more than fair market value.  All of these meetings are open to the public.
