Purpose
The Economic Development office of Clarke County is responsible for expanding the tax base of the county in a way that will result in a net revenue increase, which will help relieve some of the burden of real estate and personal property taxation of county residents.
Objectives
- Attract businesses to Clarke County that will fit in with the character of the county and the life style of it's citizens.
- Develop, maintain and distribute information to effectively market Clarke County in order to attract desired business and industry.
- Facilitate the development of sites and buildings for potential businesses that want to locate in the county.
- Assist existing businesses in the county to optimize their potential for growth.
- Improve community understanding of the benefits of expanded business growth.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with local, regional and state agencies to promote Clarke County as a good place to be in business.
- Assist in the expansion of tourism in the county.
